Each year Mareas International Homeschool Samara holds an annual fundraiser to collect community support to fund a special project. This year’s event will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2016, at 5pm. The event will include a live auction, a silent auction and a raffle. The Fundraiser will be hosted by Coco’s Mexican Restaurant to raise funds for solar paneles to power the school and help us to further our goals of being "green", and to help our students understand the importance of sustainable energy and living a sustainable lifestyle.

Mareas Homeschool Samara is an open enrollment, fee-based program with a diverse population of local and foreign born students, ranging in age from 2 to 17. The school opened in 2012 when a group of parents organized to create an educational option that focused on the talents and needs of each individual student. The school’s mission is to help children to become loving, responsible, respectful and thankful adults who confidently share their knowledge and kindness with the community and lead meaningful lives.
This fundraiser will help to purchase and install solar panels. The goal is to expand the understanding of our students and to help them to develop into environmentally responsible adults. This step, along with our newly built organic garden, are important additions to the program, and part of an onging school-wide initiative.
All of the proceeds from the event, less the minimal event costs, will be used solely for this project. A silent auction will also be offered with an extensive collection of donations from local Carrillo and Samara businesses.
